Charming audiences became almost routine to the three choirs of NHS. They offered the tops in inspiration, versatility, and musical talent in their offerings. Attracting the most area and state attention was the Singing Christmas Tree, a tall, tiered structure designed by an architectural firm to accommodate the vocalists. The "living tree" of musical talent was first displayed at the annual Christmas Sing held in the Fieldhouse December 13. Mrs. Faulkner, the director, was rewarded for her hours and hours of planning and work by the great reception which it received.
